Steps and comb plates are machine-specific. The step width, tread pattern and mounting arrangement matter when identifying a replacement step; comb plates must align with the step grooves and the landing assembly. A photograph or drawing of the removed component is useful, but it should not replace the manufacturer reference where one is available.
